Connected Futures Festival

Imagining our connected future

Client: Connected Futures Festival

Objective: Engage, explore and excite

Services: Branding, Creative Campaigns

Objective

Engage industry, academia, government and the general public with early work into 6G and advanced communication technologies.

Strategy

Create an exciting, engaging visual identity for the festival that could appeal to our varied audiences, including those without an inherent interest in 6G; Blend a series of online and offline experiences to create the sense of a national festival with a main event in Bristol and live streaming of satellite events in London, Belfast and Cambridge; Generate a buzz and momentum for the day through strategic outreach; Focus on engagement and co-creation rather than trying to influence perceptions of 6G.

Creativity

Inspired by iconic festivals of the 60s and 70s, our visual identity for the Connected Futures Festival was designed to appeal to the general public while blending palettes and linking back to the funding projects. Branded materials from floor vinyls to festival flags helped to create a sense of excitement and energy, while educational assets helped to guide lay audiences through to an understanding of demonstrations, including a workbook for children. A digital ‘kiosk’ enabled in-person and remote attendees to follow the conference online, with an opportunity to delve into the performance and details of the 11 nodes of the JOINER platform underpinning the festival.
